Anonymous Mail Any mailpiece that bears only stamps as postage, weighs more than 13 ounces and was not accepted by an employee at a retail counter. Identifiable Mail

Can be traced back to the sender or the mailpiece point of entry into the mailstream, includes postage that incorporates traceable information about the sender or stamped mail that was presented in person by a mailer at a retail window. Label DDD Important Customer Information; Attached to anonymous mailpieces being returned to customers and explains to customers that due to security requirements mailpieces weighing more than 13 ounces, bearing stamps only as postage, must be taken by the customer to a retail service associate at a post office in order to be mailed. Label 127 Surface Transportation Only; Attached to anonymous mail being returned to customers and ensures that the mailpiece is returned to mailer by surface transportation only. PS Form 1000 Domestic or International Claims, must fil this out to file a claim on any mailpiece, claims/appeals should be filed no later than 60 days from the date of mailing.
