Homework # ENGR 0011 - Fall 2008
Due: Tuesday Sept 30
Part 1
Return to homework 4 and modify your file for Problem 4 on page E-148 of the text. Such that if the data set is fit with a straight line , with a semilog plot , or with a loglog plot , add a section on each worksheet and solve the equations on page E-107 of the text book using linear algebra. Your solution should produce the same values for a and b that are displayed by Excel in the trend line equations. Since there are 2 equations, your matrix A should be a 2 by 2. Save the file as Group#_OldHW4.xls
Part 2 Do the problem on page E-124 of the text book. Make sure you label all the solutions in the spreadsheet so they are easy to find. Save this on a worksheet called Part 2 in the file titled Group#_HW6.xls.
Part 3 Do problem 10 on page E-155 of the text book. Save the file as Group#_HW6.xls on a worksheet title Part 3. The solution should be setup similar to what is shown in section 1.9. of the text.
Part 4 Do problem 11 on page E-155 of the text book. Save the file as Group#_HW6.xls on a worksheet title Part 4. The solution should be setup similar to what is shown in section 1.9. of the text.
Deliverable: Your team will turn in the Excel files in the drop folder.
