Founded by deepinder goyal and gunjan patidar, the app initially targeted the age group of 18-35 years, working professionals, students, and food lovers who prefer eating outside. With over 8 crore active monthly users and serving 500+ indian cities, zomato has become a major player in the food delivery market. The app earns revenue through advertising, membership, and commission. Zomato's success can be attributed to its extensive exploration and posting of restaurant reviews, making it easier for users to differentiate between options. The app also offers benefits to its riders, such as a riders relief fund and a fixed salary. However, challenges such as competition from other apps, reach issues, and shopkeepers' reluctance to invest in multiple apps have been identified.

  1. Zomato earns money by advertising the restaurants on its application banners am I giving the top position to the restaurant via Zomato search engine.
  2. Another way Zomato makes money is by membership, offering membership to the customer such as the gold membership.
  3. Zomato makes money via Commission How Zomato targets its audience:
    1. They started with 23 countries at first.
    2. The age group which is targeted by Zomato is 18-35 years, who have smartphones and are comfortable in using the app.
    3. Working professionals who need food in their offices, students who need food in their hostels, people who do not have time or space to cook for themselves, and people who occasionally like to eat outside food- all form a part of Zomato’s target audience. How Zomato got so much success The food outlets are increasing day by day and its difficult to choose from all that which is the best but Zomato kept exploring and kept posting reviews which made it easy for the users to differentiate. What Zomato is giving to its riders
  4. Zomato offers to their riders – Riders relief fund They can purchase anything of 1000-1500 they will get it for free as the amount will be credited to their bank account.
  5. Zomato has introduced a fixed salary for the riders of 4k-5k if the riders completes 65hrs per week. What could be the possible flaws in the idea.

  • The shopkeepers denying that they are already investing in the other apps so they don’t wanna spend money on the other apps---- solution to this we can offer them cheaper rates at first(cheaper then the already exisiting apps)
