Make comparisons of the following. Use your own ideas. Write three sentences for each set, one using the
comparative structure with than, one using the comparative structure with as…as, and one using the
superlative. (Use at least one adverb in the exercise.)
Ex. watermelon/ grapefruit/ orange.
A grapefruit is bigger than an orange.
A grapefruit isn’t as big as a watermelon.
A watermelon is the biggest fruit of the three.
1. turtle/ rabbit/ fox A turtle is slower than a rabbit.
A fox is bigger than a rabbit.
A rabbit is smaller than a fox.
2. feather/ book/ television To watch television is funnier than read a book.
Write a book with a feather is more difficult than watch television.
A feather is smaller than a book.
3. running shoes/ bedroom slippers/ high heeled shoes
The high heeled shoes are tallest than bedroom slippers.
Running shoes is prettiest than the bedroom slippers.
The high heeled shoes are more preferent women than running shoes.
4. bicycle/ motorcycle/ car A motorcycle is faster than a bicycle.
A car is the most expensive than a motorcycle.
A bicycle is cheaper than a car.
5. teacher/ doctor/ lawyer A lawyer has a better salary than a teacher.
A doctors work is more difficult than a teacher.
A teacher is more requested than a lawyer.
6. egg/ pancake/ donut A donut is richer than a pancake.
An egg is most nutritious than a donut.
A pancake is most expensive than an egg.
