Learning Outcome Statements:

Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:

  1. Evaluate limits of various functions.
  2. Demonstrate an understanding of continuity.
  3. Evaluate rates of change and derivatives of various functions.
  4. Graph algebraic functions.
  5. Solve applications problems.
  6. Compute the anti-derivative of various functions.
  7. Evaluate the definite integral of various functions.

Standards:

The student will meet the learning outcomes at the following level, degree or measurement:

  1. Given a function the student evaluate the limit by applying the rules of algebra and limits.
  2. The student will determine points of discontinuity of a given function by applying the rules of algebra or by analyzing a graph of the function.
  3. The student will apply the appropriate rule of differentiation to find the derivative of a function.
  4. Graph algebraic functions using the derivative and its tests.
  5. Solve business and economics applied problems using the derivative.
  6. Given a function the student will find the indefinite and definite integral by applying the appropriate theorem.
