Differential and integral calculus of elementary functions, including applications. Not open to students with credit in MAT 221 or MAT 231.

Learning Outcome Statements:
Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:
- Evaluate limits of various functions.
- Demonstrate an understanding of continuity.
- Evaluate rates of change and derivatives of various functions.
- Graph algebraic functions.
- Solve applications problems.
- Compute the anti-derivative of various functions.
- Evaluate the definite integral of various functions.
Standards:
The student will meet the learning outcomes at the following level, degree or measurement:
- Given a function the student evaluate the limit by applying the rules of algebra and limits.
- The student will determine points of discontinuity of a given function by applying the rules of algebra or by analyzing a graph of the function.
- The student will apply the appropriate rule of differentiation to find the derivative of a function.
- Graph algebraic functions using the derivative and its tests.
- Solve business and economics applied problems using the derivative.
- Given a function the student will find the indefinite and definite integral by applying the appropriate theorem.
