1978-1979
Jan: Julian returns to England fifteen months of being a househusband, spending most of his time
caring for Sean.
After a year off from song writing, George composes “Blow Away”, “If you Believe,” while in
Hawaii. Over 1.5 million copies of “Mull of Kintyre” have now sold in the Uk, making it the
biggest single in that nation’s history until 1984.
End of January: George continues to compose newsongs while on vacation with Olivia in
Hawaii. Yoko turns to business, buying several acres of Delaware farmland on which to raise
prize cows. Ringo is in Hollywood shooting the TV special Ringo. Then goes to Portugal with
Nancy after filming tv special ends.
March 20-: Wings single, “With Little Luck” “backwards Traveler” is released. From the
London Town record, “With a Little luck” was written by Paul in Scotland and recorded off the
Virgin Islands coast o na aycht equipped with mobile recording set up. Harmonies. Paul
McCartney and Wings.
The chorus is over the verse chords, and is harmonized and repeated with Paul’s upper
register ad-lib vocals. The chorus section repeats.
March 22: Wings hold a press conference for their London Town album on a boat sailing up the
Thames River.
March 31: London Town is released in Uk.
April: Back at his home studio in England, George begins recording music for the George
Harrison album. He listened to his 1970 All Tings Must Pass album for inspiration.
May: George’s father passes away at George’s Uk Home. Finance an upcoming monthy python
film. Life of brian.
June: “With a little luck” goes to #1 in the US. John and Yoko release a statement to the press
about their plans to produce a musical entitled the Ballad of John and Yoko. John’s first wife
Cynthia releases A Twist of Lennon, She reports that John “introduced drugs against her will and
Yoko stole John from me.”
13 June: John files a writ in high court to stop further release portions of Cynthia’s book, breach
of marital confidence. John loses and second part of her chapter releases are published.
June 29: Paul’s Spirit of Ranachan studio, Wings begins recording songs for the Back to the Egg
album. Guitarist Laurence Juber and drummer Steve Holly joins Wings fulltime. Ringo travels to
France, Sweden and Spain promoting his Bad Boy album and enjoying vacation ntime with
Nancy Andrews. A suggestion is made for John and his family to visit his Aunt Mimi in London,
but it does not happen.
Aug 1: George girlfriend Olivia gives birth to son Dhani (meaning wealthy in Indian language).
George and Olivia are married at a private ceremony outside London with no press alerted. Back
