Read: Taylor §7.7, §7.8 & §7.10
1. What is the advantage of Lagrange Multipliers? Or with other word, when would you
use Lagrange Multipliers? (Because of our canceled class, we will cover in class $7.10 only
partly. This reading has the purpose that you learn about the main idea of Lagrange
multipliers.)
2. Taylor problem (7.45). (Please hand in your answer Mo, 9am.)
3. Start working on problem 6. of homework #5. (Answer should be “done.”) This
assignment is iportant, because you need the practice and to keep working on the long
homework #5.
4. Comments: What of this reading did you find most difficult and what did you
find most interesting? Is there a specific topic you would like to focus on, on Monday in
class? Do you have any other comments or wishes?
