When multiple style sheets are used

applied to each HTML tags.
2 Please outline the similarities and
differences between HTML,
DHTML, and XML.
Similarities- The tags for the XML and
HTML are similar in that they are text
based. DHTML is an upgrade from
regular Hyper Text Markup Language.
Differences- XML, unlike HTML, all
empty tags must also be ended, or closed.
The image tag doesn’t require an end tag
in HTML, but closed in XML. The
quotation marks are optional in XML, but
are needed in HTML. XML is more
sensitive to letters and capitalizations.
DHTML allows images or actions that
regular HTML does not.
3 What is the systems development
life cycle? What is it used for?
Please describe its steps.
SDLC- When creating an electronic
business website, you should follow the
same process as for any other information
system application. The SDLC is a
structured series of phases used in
developing information system. First,
requirements should be the requirements
should be thoroughly analyzed. Next the
initial design should be created. Now the
Web site should actually be developed
then tested. Once all this is done, the
website must be maintained.
4 Suppose you were starting your
own company and part of the job
is to develop new software to
support the website and
transaction processing. On Page
171 there are 4 criteria for
selecting the language you would
use. On the next page, there is a
table 5-5 listing a variety of
application server products. Select
two of the websites listed and find
Macromedia.com has ColdFusion MX
6.1 and this is an easy way to use the
program that gives web services with far
less training time and fewer lines of code.
It works with JAVA and is good for
database connections.
Inprise.com uses the Borland Enterprise
Server. The Borland Enterprise Server
helps reduce deployment risk and cost by
enabling speed and flexibility in an open

out what you can about each of the four criteria for each of the two servers. Summarize your findings and explain which of the two you’d be more inclined to use. It offers tight integration with other Borland application lifecycle management technologies for greater team productivity, faster time-to-market, higher application quality, and lower total cost of ownership. The ColdFusion MX product seems best because it is very popular and has a fast connection speed with mother connections.
