Pulseless V-tach V-fib
1. Initial assessment
•Begin high quality CPR
• Oxygen
• Connect monitors.
2. Rhythm check
• Shock if VF/pVT
• Rhythm check every 2 minutes
3. Drug therapy:
• IV/IO access, epinephrine every 3-5 min and
amiodarone or lidocaine for refractory VF/pVT
• Amiodarone or lidocaine depends on local
protocols and agency specifics.
4. Consider advanced airway and Capnography
5. Evaluate and treat H&T’s
6. If ROSC, go to post-cardiac arrest
protocol
Abrupt rise in
ETCO2 level in
cardiac arrest may
indicate ROSC.
Check pulse.
